American Fork Canyon closed after fatal motorcycle accident

American Fork Canyon will be closed for most of Sunday morning while the Utah Highway Patrol investigates a fatal motorcycle crash, authorities say.

A motorcycle crashed on state Route 92 near American Fork around 3:10 a.m. Sunday, according to a statement released by the Department of Public Safety. The driver was westbound and failed to take a turn, the department said.

The driver, who was identified as a male from Utah County in his early twenties, was not wearing a helmet and died at the scene of the accident, the department said.

The cause of the crash is currently unknown, as is the man’s identity.
